Privacy notice

BlueBoltWorks builds affordable websites and search foundations for UK trades and other small service businesses. When you use this website, claim the free playbook, book a call or send us an enquiry, BlueBoltWorks decides how your personal information is used. In data protection language that makes us the controller.

• Free playbook form. Your first name and email address, plus an optional business phone number or Instagram handle, whether you ticked the optional marketing box, and the source or campaign fields carried in the link you arrived on.
• Booking form. Your name, phone number and the time slot you chose.
• Messages and enquiries. Anything you write to us by email, together with our replies.
• Client records. If you go on to buy a project, the service, billing and transaction records that go with it.
• Technical information. Limited hosting, security and error information created automatically when a page or form is served, which can include an IP address.

We do not ask for special category data, and you should not send it to us through these forms.

• To send the playbook you asked for and to arrange a call. These are steps you asked us to take before any contract, so we rely on steps taken at your request prior to a contract.
• To run a paid project. Where you become a client we use your information to perform and administer that contract.
• Legitimate interests. Responding to enquiries, keeping records of what was agreed, improving the site and our service, preventing fraud and keeping the site secure. We only do this where it does not override your rights.
• Consent. Optional direct marketing by email, text or social channels. You can withdraw it at any time.
• Legal obligations. Accounting, tax and other records the law requires us to keep.

When you claim the free playbook we send you the download you requested. That delivery message is limited to providing the requested playbook and the neutral information you need to use it, so it is a service message rather than marketing. Promotional content in that email, and any later marketing, is used only where you ticked the optional consent box, which is unticked by default. You can ask us to stop at any time by replying or emailing hello@blueboltworks.com, and we will act on that request.

• Hosting and infrastructure providers that run this website and its forms.
• Supabase, which stores the records created by the playbook and booking forms.
• Resend, our intended email delivery provider, where email delivery has been configured.
• Meta, but only where you accepted marketing cookies, for measuring whether our adverts bring people to this site.
• Professional advisers, and public authorities where the law requires us to disclose information.

These providers act on our instructions under contract. We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for other companies to market to you.

Some of our providers may process information outside the UK. Where a transfer requires it, BlueBoltWorks uses an applicable adequacy arrangement or appropriate contractual safeguards, such as approved standard contractual clauses with the UK addendum, so that your information keeps a similar level of protection.

• Playbook and booking enquiries that do not become clients. Normally reviewed for deletion or anonymisation after 24 months with no interaction.
• Marketing preferences and suppression records. Kept for as long as needed to honour your choice and to show we respected it.
• Client, invoice and transaction records. Kept for the legal accounting and claim periods that apply, normally up to 6 years.
• Technical, security and error information. Kept only as long as it is operationally useful.

Depending on the situation you can ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or object to our use of it. You can withdraw consent at any time, and where it applies you can ask for your information in a portable format. Your right to object to direct marketing is absolute: if you tell us to stop, we stop.

• We do not sell personal information.
• We do not make decisions about you using only automated processing, and we do not build profiles about you ourselves.
• Where you accept marketing cookies, limited advert measurement information about your visit is shared with Meta so we can see whether our adverts work. You can refuse this, or change your mind later, using the marketing cookies control in the footer.
• This website is intended for business users aged 18 or over. It is not aimed at children.
• Cookies and similar storage are covered separately in our cookie notice.
